LAKE CORMORANT, Miss. -
Lake Cormorant (Miss.) trailed
Hernando (Miss.) by 21 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 34-29 victory on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a
Karleke Oliver touchdown run, the Tigers went into halftime with a 21-0 lead. Lake Cormorant took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by
Bailey Walker in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 14 points in the third, LC still trailed by seven points going into the fourth quarter. But 20 points in the fourth helped Lake Cormorant pull out the victory.
Lake Cormorant's Walker scored two touchdowns on the ground in the victory.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Hernando took, 36-13.
The win was a nice bounce back for LC, which lost to DeSoto Central last week, 22-15. The loss comes after Hernando defeated Cleveland 26-20 last week. The loss ended Hernando's three-game winning streak.
