The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. A special shoutout goes to Venice's senior Bryce Carpenter, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Banging Down the Door
Say hello to Raines: the team broke into the power rankings at the 18th position after its notable last-week performance. It put the hurt on Ribault with a conclusive 41 - 6 victory. Raines gave the Ribault offensive line some real trouble with nine sacks (and will no doubt be looking to keep the pressure on North Bay Haven Academy this Friday).
Have a Day
The Venice offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It took its game against Manatee by a confident 42 - 14 score. Venice made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. Senior Bryce Carpenter was a key playmaker for Venice. One of the top players in the power rankings for the week, he tossed for three touchdowns and rushed for three more.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another win last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (11 consecutive games). Madison County blew past Rickards 34 - 12. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Madison County actually slipped one place in the power rankings.
It was up, up, and away for Bartram Trail and Nease last week as they combined for the highest point total (77) among all power ranked teams. Everything went Bartram Trail's way against Nease as it secured a 56 - 21 win. As a result, Bartram Trail rose three spots in the power rankings.
