Video: No. 1 OL recruit Greg Little shuts down the competition at NIKE The Opening
See the Allen (Texas) star in action and in an interview with our Chris Stonebraker BEAVERTON, Ore. — For just a second,
Shea Patterson, a 5-star quarterback with a calm, cool demeanor, got choked up. And he wasn't even wearing shoulder pads.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound incoming senior at
Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.) led his Lunarbeast team to four straight wins Friday to win the finals of the 7-on-7 championship at The Opening.
About an hour later, the Ole Miss commit was named MVP of the Elite 11 — a four-month national quarterback competition that ended at Nike headquarters in Beaverton.
"This is probably the best week of my life," he said. "What a way to end it."
It sure didn't look promising after the Lunarbeast lost all four games on Thursday. Things were sort of falling apart.
"We weren't yelling at each other, but clearly some guys didn't care," Patterson said. "We had a big talk this morning. We weren't going to allow ourselves to lose. We locked in. The biggest difference between today and yesterday was our togetherness."
That showed after winning the finale, a 27-14 win over Mach Speed. The team of 21 4- and 5-star recruits celebrated with a series of chants and group hugs that lasted about 10 minutes.
"We switched our offense and some personnel around," said 4-star receiver
Austin Mack of
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (Ind.). "Our defense was there all along. Our offense started to click and it was all downhill from there."
Nobody improved their recruiting status or was more impressive than Patterson during the gathering of 166 of the finest high school players in the country.
Here are nine others who were also very impressive. Most were on Nike's All-Tournament squad.
2. Kyle Davis (6-2, 220) — Archer (Lawrenceville, Ga.) The wide receiver was named the 7-on-7 overall MVP because he was simply unstoppable. Rarely do receivers get double-teamed at the line — like a gunner on punts — but Davis earned that right. He's ranked 51st on the 247Sports list. Expect him to move up significantly, perhaps to 5-star status. The 247Sports crystal ball predicts Georgia will be his destination.
3. Rashan Gary (6-4, 291) — Paramus Catholic (N.J.) The nation's No. 1 senior recruit can't move up, but he certainly solidified his spot by earning defensive line MVP. The uncommitted standout has shed 20 pounds in a year and his extra quickness showed.
4. Nigel Warrior (6-0, 184) — Westlake (Atlanta) The defensive back had several interceptions in 7-on-7 and, befitting of his name, seemed to be everywhere on the field. He apparently is picking between Georgia and Tennessee. He should move up from his No. 78 spot overall.
5. Greg Little (6-6, 308) — Allen (Texas)Like Gary, the nation's No. 2 recruit has no room to climb, but he solidified his standing by earning MVP honors of the offensive line. He's headed to Texas A&M.
6. Raekwon Davis (6-7, 314) — Meridian (Miss.)Yet another impressive defensive lineman, the incoming senior may move up farther than anyone. The Alabama commit came with a 3-star ranking and was the 367th-top senior in the class, but after earning one of the top five DL spots in the lineman challenge, he will definitely be reclassified as a 4-star recruit.
7. Isaac Nauta (6-4, 240) — IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)The Florida State commit is the nation's top tight end for a reason, but might just be the country's best receiver period. His excellent speed goes along with superb hands and strong route-running. The obvious tight end MVP should move up from his No. 26 spot overall.
8. Tyrie Cleveland (6-3, 190) — Westfield (Houston)The morning leader of the NFT competition, Cleveland finished third overall and was impressive in the 7-on-7s. The senior should move up from his No. 96 spot overall.
9. Nigel Knott (5-11, 175) — Germantown (Madison, Miss.) The cornerback didn't make the All-Tournament Team, but he moved from 4-star to 5-star status with his marks in the Nike Football Testing, including a time of 4.30 seconds in the 40-yard dash and a 46-inch vertical leap.
10. Jonathon Cooper (6-3, 240) — Lincoln (Gahanna, Ohio) It's fitting the last pick should be another defensive lineman. Cooper, an Ohio State commit, earned a spot on the All-DL squad and posted the No. 1 play from Friday with an electric inside rush to record a sack in 1-on-1s. Two players earlier, Cooper had been pancaked. The No. 54 recruit overall is a live wire and responded accordingly.
