Both Faith West Academy and Hill Country Christian School of Austin have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Saturday at 12:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Faith West Academy has flexed its offensive muscles in its last seven matchups, so Hill Country Christian School of Austin has a real workout ahead of it.
Faith West Academy can now show off four landslide victories after its most recent game. It took its contest against Lutheran last week by a conclusive 84 - 62 score.
Meanwhile, Hill Country Christian School of Austin is still under.500 but has been making strides to fix that in its last two games. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, it beat Castle Hills First Baptist 30 - 24 last week. Sophomore Tanner James didn't have many carries in the previous game, but he had more touches this time and made them count as he ran for 188 yards and punched in three touchdowns. James has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past four consecutive games.
Their wins bumped Faith West Academy to 5-4 and Hill Country Christian School of Austin to 5-6. Both Faith West Academy and Hill Country Christian School of Austin have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 56 points per game, the latter an average of 46 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
