The postseason has brought with it a whole lot of change in the power rankings. A special shoutout goes to Prairie Ridge's senior Samson Evans, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Prairie Ridge's 42 - 7 win over Willowbrook last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Samson Evans. Evans rushed for 135 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Evans one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
The battle between Loyola Academy (ranked 6th in the power rankings) and Marist (ranked 8th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Loyola Academy strolled past Marist with points to spare, taking the game 30 - 10. The win raised Loyola Academy up one spot in the power rankings.

Minooka couldn't hold onto the ball last week, and its three turnovers certainly didn't improve its odds for success. It was close but not close enough as it fell 28 - 25 to Edwardsville. One positive for Minooka, at least, was the performance of Connor Etzkorn. The talented underclassman rushed for 62 yards and scored on one reception. The rough outing dragged Minooka down eight positions in the power rankings -- the largest fall of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Maine South (2nd in the power rankings) and Lincoln-Way East (1st). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Of course, Lincoln-Way East and Maine South can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Saturday which team falters and which extends its success.
