The MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard has made multiple visits over the past two years to schools in Texas, California, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to name a few.
January 23 marked the first time that we have ever honored a team from Kentucky. The Trinity Shamrocks were certainly deserving.
A private all-boys school in Louisville, Trinity is renowned throughout Kentucky as being one of the finest athletic schools in the state. The Tour of Champions made its stop to let everyone know that Trinity was not only one of the best teams in Kentucky, but in the entire country.
MaxPreps representative Chris Brethel proudly announced Trinity's No. 23 national ranking out of over 15,000 football teams covered by MaxPreps. The Kentucky Army National Guard helped to put on a very tight and well-organized ceremony, complete with a visit from a Color Guard unit.
Major Tina Gay-Riddle and the Kentucky National Guard presented the 'Rocks with a huge team photograph and, of course, the MaxPreps Tour of Champions trophy.
With a strong team infrastructure and long history of success, there is a great chance that the MaxPreps Tour of Champions will find its way to Trinity once again. For now, it is all about telling the nation that the Trinity Shamrocks are a major force in the high school football world!
