2. Seminole (8-0) – Pitcher/infielder Joe Lamoureux has Pinellas County-best four home runs.
3. Clearwater Central Catholic (7-1) – Won last two games by a combined 36-0 and have posted four-straight shutouts.
4. Tampa Jesuit (7-1) – Junior catcher Greg Dupell has bashed three home runs in eight games.
5. Tampa Alonso (5-1) – Hurler Alex Panteliodis leads an outstanding Ravens staff.
Honorable Mention – Dade City Pasco (6-1), Tampa Gaither (7-2), Plant City Durant (8-2), Land O’ Lakes (4-1), Clearwater (6-2).
SOFTBALL
1. Tampa Gaither (9-2) – Despite ace Morgan Grove temporarily being sidelined, Cowboys still beat Class 6A, District 7 arch-rival, No. 2 Countryside 4-2.
2. Clearwater Countryside (9-1) – Before loss to No. 1 Gaither, Cougars topped Tarpon Springs East Lake 5-0 on freshman pitcher Alyssa Bache’s no-hitter.
3. Dade City Pasco (8-0) – Dominant twin pitchers Colena and Colesa Lazar have Pirates unbeaten. Coming off 14-1 trouncing of Wesley Chapel Wiregrass Ranch.
4. Tampa Chamberlain (5-0) – Sluggers Mary Kate Smith (.923 batting average) and Samantha Holle (.615) are leading a potent Chiefs’ offense.
5. Tarpon Springs (6-1) – Fresh off a 24-2 thumping of Clearwater.
