CLIFTON, Va. - A big 28-point second quarter helped carry the Wildcats to a 44-16 victory over
T.C. Williams (Alexandria, Va.) on Saturday.
Centreville scored on a
Scott Walter touchdown pass to
David Liddle, a kick return touchdown by
Aj Turner, an Turner touchdown run and a touchdown pass by Walter to
Chase Heiner in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the first quarter, CHS led 37-3 at the half.
The Clifton school expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. The Wildcats' lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Walter to Heiner.
The defeat comes as a step back for T.C. Williams, who notched a 38-2 victory over Oakton in its previous outing. The loss snapped T.C. Williams' two-game winning streak.
Centreville (2-0) goes up against Hayfield in a non-conference game matchup next week, while T.C. Williams (2-1) locks horns with Langley also in a non-conference game.
