If you're seeking the two most dominant Tennessee high school football programs, you won't have to go to two different parts of the state. Just 3.8 miles apart, Maryville and Alcoa hold the top spots on our list thanks to their domination of their respective classes since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports.

The 15 most dominant squads span many enrollment classifications and parts of the state. From Memphis in the west to Knoxville in the east, and Chattanooga in the south to Nashville in the north, there is a wide geographic net cast. And small private schools like Webb are on the list alongside big bruisers like Oakland and Whitehaven.

Here is how the points break down:

1. 20 for a state title

2. 10 for a state championship game appearance

3. Other points are based on where a team finished in the final MaxPreps Tennessee Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive 25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
