A quick look at some of the top offensive performers from around the state last week.
Jamie McGee of Sage Hill leads the state in passing yardage after two straight big weeks. In a 48-3 win over Webb, McGee completed 16 of 25 passes for 321 yards and six touchdowns. He was even better in a win over Tri-City Christian the week before throwing for 403 yards. He leads the state with 1,247 yards and 17 TDs.
Tanner Rust of El Capitan is close behind McGee in yardage and touchdowns. In a 57-20 win over University City, Rust completed 16 of 35 passes for 255 yards and three touchdowns. During the previous week, Rust threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns in a 56-36 win over Coronado. Rust has 1,184 yards and 16 scores.
Jimmy Augur of Los Angeles Baptist ranks third in the state after completing 19 of 39 for 365 yards in a 20-20 tie with Santa Clara. Augur has 1,112 yards on the season.
Justin Flores of the Sierra Vista Dons had a spectacular game in defeat against Baldwin Park. Despite losing 40-12, Flores was 19 of 35 for 370 yards. He has a high game of 437 yards against Lawndale two weeks ago.
Matt Barkley continues to play well for Mater Dei. He was 18 of 24 for 286 yards and five touchdown in a 48-8 win over Cabrillo. His best game, however was a 28-for-40 game with 538 yards and five TDs in a win over American Fork of Utah.
Corey Nielsen from Gahr of Cerritos completed 12 of 17 passes for 220 yards and four scores in Gahr's 62-42 win over Artesia. During the previous week, Nielsen threw for 350 yards in a win over Cerritos.
Andy Magee of Chadwick has been particularly impressive the past two weeks. In a 54-20 win over St. Genevieve, Magee was 17-for-25 for 394 yards and four scores. The prior week, Magee was even better, completing 27 of 32 passes for 411 yards and five touchdowns in a 70-35 win over St. Anthony.
Clark Eckert of Monte Vista Christian continues to play well, completing 21 of 31 passes for 369 yards and four touchdowns in a 32-29 win over Albany.
Daniel Young of Los Atlos led his team to a 35-0 win over Mills by completing 21 of 29 passes for 371 yards and four scores.
Cary Grossart of Folsom rang up his third straight 300+ game with 305 yards in a 34-24 loss to Ponderosa. Grossart completed 21 of 32 passes in the loss.
Darius Banks of Culver City, last year's passing leader with over 4,000 yards, is back on track after a slow first week. Banks had the lowest passing total in two years in the season opener with just 180 yards. However he has bounced back with 334 yards in a 49-0 win over Gardena and 428 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-35 win over Point Lomas.
Jamie Jensen of Gilroy played well in a 52-31 loss to Serra as he completed 37 of 53 passes for 484 yards and three scores. The 37 completions is the fourth highest total in state history, according to the Cal-Hi Sports Record Book.
Chris Bradley of Modesto helped his team edge Turlock 21-14 by completing 26 of 44 passes for 375 yards and three scores.
Anthony Salter of Stagg has racked up the yardage in defeat. In a 35-32 loss to Lodi, Salter was 18 of 36 for 290 yards and four touchdowns. In a 34-28 loss to Tracy, he completed 22 of 46 passes for 437 yards and four scores.
Rushing
Andre Smith of East Bakersfield leads the nation in rushing, according to Cal-Hi Sports, thanks to three straight 300-yard efforts. He had 324 yards last week against Golden Valley to go with the 340 yards he had against North and the 327 he ran for against Centenniel.
Craig Lohse of Hamilton ran just nine times for 200 yards in a 45-0 win over Chester. The previous week he gained 280 yards and he currently ranks second in the state in rushing with 986 yards.
TJ Nelson of Coast Union shined in a 47-24 win over Avenal as he raced 24 times for 274 yards and five touchdowns.
Darrell Scott of St. Bonaventure had the 16th 200-yard game of his career with 234 yards on 26 carries and five touchdowns in a 41-33 win over Oaks Christian.
Adrian Pacheco of Selma ran 33 times for 205 yards and four scores in a 37-30 win over Kerman.
Joaquin Orejel of Cordova followed up a 317-yard performance against Oakmont with 202 yards on 39 carries in a 14-6 win over Florin.
Nico Barbone of San Dimas shined in a 41-21 win over Ontario, rushing for 270 yards on 23 carries and three touchdowns.
Cameron Gusbeth paced Desert Christian to a 47-7 win over Murphy by rushing 22 times for 211 yards.
Jorge Chaidez led Bell-Jeff to a 55-0 win over Marshall by running for 216 yards on 13 carries.
Chris Davi of Rio Vista did well for the Rams last week, racing for 234 yards on 26 carries in a 36-22 win.
Daniel Gozalez of Arvin led his team to a 14-7 win over South with 222 yards on 32 carries.
Bryce Mahmud-McBride of Los Altos rambled for 227 yards on 29 carries in a 31-20 win over Damien. Two weeks ago, he ran 25 times for 302 yards in a 39-7 win over Wilson.
Cameron Loeffler of Exeter helped his team defeat Central Valley Christian by running 24 times for 258 yards and three scores.
Giovannie Dixon of Reseda ran 22 times in a 35-21 win over Golden Valley and gained 227 yards.
Tony DeMarco of El Molino ran 30 times for 184 yards in a 29-7 win over Piner, but he came up huge with 389 yards on 31 carries the week before in a 49-8 win over Elsie Allen.
Ray Holley of El Modena scampered for 239 yards on 23 carries in a 57-27 win over Loara. He also scored five rushing touchdowns in the game and scored six totaled.
Ricky Seale of Escondido ran for 286 yards and four touchdowns in a 51-35 loss to Rancho Buena Vista.
Nick Lakey of Fall River had his second straight big game, rushing for 224 yards on 20 carries and four TDs in a 50-8 win over Quincy.
Louis Bland of Central Catholic had another big week, gaining 213 yards on 19 carries in a 57-12 win over Ripon.
Sean Carraway of Claremont continues to catch passes at an alarming rate, grabbing 13 in a 32-7 loss to South Hills and 15 in a 27-20 loss to Damien.
Tim Watson of Chadwick had eight catches for 215 yards in a 54-20 win over St. Genevieve.
