Melbourne have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. On Friday, they won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by South Fork 17-16. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
The win got Melbourne back to even at 4-4. The loss dropped South Fork's record to 2-5.
Melbourne will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Martin County in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Melbourne will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for South Fork, they will face off against Melbourne Central Catholic.
