Panhandle (5-4) squares off against Sunray (4-5) this Friday at 7:00 PM. Both teams have had struggles on the defensive side of the ball, with Panhandle giving up an average of 29 points per game and Sunray allowing an average of 29.
Panhandle went up against Sanford-Fritch last week. Panhandle got off to a good start with a 27-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 27 - 20 advantage at the half. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 28 points. That ultimately gave them a 55 - 42 win.
Meanwhile, Sunray has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling three) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Boys Ranch last week with a conclusive 54 - 6 victory. At 48 points, that marked Sunray's largest margin of victory so far this year.
Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Sunray and Panhandle will really light up the scoreboard.
