Placer might be getting used to good results now that the squad have eight wins in a row. They took their matchup against Oakmont on Friday by a conclusive 45-20 score. Followers of Placer probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected seven blowout victories.
The contest started off well for Placer, whose offense put up 35 first-half points. Meanwhile, Oakmont couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 35-0 heading into the break. Placer were outperformed in the second half 10-20 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win. They added further sheen to their flawless record, now 8-0. The loss dropped Oakmont back to even at 4-4.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Placer take on Ponderosa at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown. As for Oakmont, they will face off against Rio Linda. Oakmont's defense better steel itself: Rio Linda are averaging 46.5 points per game.
