Both A.C. Reynolds and Southwest Guilford have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:30 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. A.C. Reynolds has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last ten contests.
A.C. Reynolds has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling ten) after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Parkland last week as it secured a 52 - 6 win. Junior Alex Flinn must have eaten his Wheaties that morning because passed for 327 yards in the victory. Flinn should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for A.C. Reynolds in the past ten games. Senior Bryson Patton was in the mix too, providing A.C. Reynolds with three touchdowns.
Southwest Guilford won two weeks ago against North Forsyth 48 - 3, and it decided to stick to that point total again. The final score between Southwest Guilford and Statesville last week was a 48 - 0 blowout in Southwest Guilford's favor. Southwest Guilford brought some defensive heat, getting to the quarterback for six sacks.
Their wins bumped A.C. Reynolds to 11-1 and Southwest Guilford to 9-3. Southwest Guilford and A.C. Reynolds will be experiencing extra pressure in this one since they are each in the midst of a winning streak (Southwest Guilford with three wins, A.C. Reynolds with ten). We'll see which team can handle the heat this Friday.
