Santana fell to Monte Vista 44-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Owen Brown caught 6 passes for 44 yards in the loss.
The Monarchs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,367 from 5,525. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 44-3 victory over Santana last week.
El Capitan's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brad Cagle threw for 113 and 3 touchdowns and Isaiah Capoocia had 78 yards receiving. On the ground Chris Pearson chipped in 52 yards. Pearson helped El Capitan's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
He was 8-12 with 0 interceptions.
Cagle put up the best numbers in passing as the Vaqueros defeated El Cajon Valley. Cagle's favorite target this week was Capoocia, who caught 3 passes for 78 yards.
Leading Grossmont - Valley in both passing and receiving yards, El Capitan's Cagle and Scott Root have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback Cagle has thrown for 2,120 yards this season, while Root has 31 catches for 799 yards. Mount Miguel's Ben Lomibao leads the league in rushing yards with 1,169.
Ron Burner's team led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on the Braves. Cagle ran for 28 yards during the win.
