West Nassau is five games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. It squares off against Bradford this Friday at 7:00 PM. Both teams have excelled on the defensive side of the ball (Bradford allowing an average of 10.2 points, West Nassau an average of 9.8).
West Nassau came out on top in a nail-biter against Baldwin last week, sneaking past 29 - 27. Senior Kyler Crosby was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he ran for 264 yards and also punched in one touchdown). Crosby has been a consistent playmaker for West Nassau as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Bradford can now show off three landslide victories after its game last week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Kingdom Prep last week, finishing up at 41 - 6. Bradford especially relied on senior Zion Barber, who tossed for three touchdowns and rushed for one more, and senior Chris Cummings, who caught passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Bradford to 4-1 and West Nassau to 5-0. While both teams are coming off of wins, only one will triumph this week. We'll find out soon enough who that will be.
