Today is one of those days that I will look back on and say, "I can't believe I did that!" As you may have read earlier we decided to drive up to Maine yesterday, simply because we figured we would never have this opportunity again. Today we drove out to Bar Harbor, which is on a coastal island off northern Maine. Bar Harbor is a logging and lobster fishing town. We had several moments where we simply laughed at how we had driven the Maxpreps Express out to this remote island off of Maine after driving all around the country. We both had some cheap lobster at a local restaurant, took a few pictures, and then hopped back into the RV and headed south for New York.
On the way back Chris, aka Magellan, led me astray and we took an hour detour in the Boston area. However, all is well as my as new best friend Andy hooked Chris and I up with all the junk food we could handle when we stopped off the freeway to gas up the RV. Even when we screw up things turn out amazing.
Tomorrow we will be setting things up for this week's playoff battle between two undefeated teams from New York, Monroe Woodbury and New Rochelle. The intensity of the playoffs is something we have not seen before. The teams will be fighting to move on in the playoffs, while the losing team's season will be over, and most seniors will never play organized football again, and be relegated to dreaming of days gone by, such as yours truly.
