The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Dodge County takes on Butler in the first playoff game of the year. Dodge County might be feeling good about this one after its surprising comeback last game.
The margin was closer than expected for Dodge County two weeks ago, but the end result was the same. It came out on top in a nail-biter against Bleckley County two weeks ago, sneaking past 30 - 27. Junior RJ Carr continued his outstanding stretch of play as he rushed for 110 yards in the win, marking his 8th consecutive game with over 100 yards rushing. Carr's longest touchdown was a 47-yard scramble in the third quarter. Carr has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven consecutive games. Senior Nick Cummings was in the mix too, providing Dodge County with two touchdowns. Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Butler beat Glenn Hills 34 - 30 last week.
Their wins bumped Butler to 4-6 and Dodge County to 9-0. We'll see which team can carry over its success and which team inevitably falls when Butler and Dodge County clash.
