Ripley simply couldn't be stopped on Friday, as they easily beat St. Albans 65-24. That looming 41-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ripley yet.
Ripley's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 50 points in the first half. Meanwhile, St. Albans couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 50-0 heading into the break. Ripley were outperformed in the second half 15-24 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
The victory (their 7th in a row) raised Ripley's record to 7-1. St. Albans' defeat makes it six in a row and drags their record down to 1-7.
Ripley will square off against Roane County at 7:30 PM next week. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Ripley and Roane County will really light up the scoreboard next week. As for St. Albans, they will face off against South Charleston. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
