Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, George Ranch should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Clear Lake at 7:00 PM. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
George Ranch couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 8-38 walloping at Dickinson's hands. George Ranch got a solid performance out of senior John Cristian Jackson, who accumulated 129 passing yards and picked up 32 yards on the ground; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Clear Lake had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 6-42 loss at the hands of Manvel. Clear Lake were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-35.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
