In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. A special shoutout goes to Oak Ridge's junior Matt Jenner, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
St. Mary's got a 58 - 20 win over Edison last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Dusty Frampton. Frampton rushed for 193 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Frampton one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
A
The battle between Gregori (ranked 15th in the power rankings) and Franklin (ranked 24th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. Gregori had all the answers against Franklin, winning 45 - 20. The victory boosted Gregori a satisfying seven spots in the power rankings.
Game of Inches
After a comfortable win over Whitney in the match before, Antelope might have felt a bit of anxiety in its most recent match. Antelope can thank its lucky stars for its win over Elk Grove. The final score was a hard-fought 21 - 20. Junior Mhari Roberts deserves a lot of the credit as he earned one touchdown and 174 yards rushing the ball. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Vacaville (10th in the power rankings) and Jesuit (4th). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Vacaville and Jesuit put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
