There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of DePaul Catholic's senior Taquan Roberson, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Even though St. Anthony's was bested by Archbishop Spalding 43 - 42 last week, St. Anthony's's senior Greg Campisi played one heck of a game. He earned three touchdowns and 115 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Campisi among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Bergen Catholic (1st in the power rankings) and St. Joseph Regional (4th). Bergen Catholic got a somewhat close 24 - 20 victory over St. Joseph Regional. The win took its toll on the QB, however, as he was sacked five times.
Movin on Up
Delbarton not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Pope John XXIII in every quarter. Delbarton had a great defensive game, holding Pope John XXIII to zero points to set up the 27 - 0 win. Delbarton found its leader in an underclassman: Gary Lewis iii ran for 100 yards and snatched up five receptions, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The success catapulted Delbarton seven spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Half Hollow Hills West (24th in the power rankings) and Westhampton Beach (14th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Both the Half Hollow Hills West and Westhampton Beach defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 11 ppg and 11 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
