On Friday, Hoquiam had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 37-24 win over Montesano.
It took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero first-quarter points, the Hoquiam offense picked up 21 points in the second quarter. Montesano countered with 12 points, leaving the score at 21-12 going into the half. The offense for Hoquiam continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 16 points to put the game away. They added further sheen to their flawless record, now 7-0. The loss dropped Montesano's record to 5-2.
Hoquiam will stay at home next week against Sequim at 7:00 PM. Each of these teams will be battling to keep their seven-game winning streak alive. Montesano will be staying on the road, facing off against Tenino. Tenino are limping into the contest on a seven-game losing streak.
