ÿÿÿÿ While I'm sure there are more out there I have never heard of a rivalry like the Backyard Bowl.ÿ Two neighboring teams who have dominated their state competition and brought home multiple state championships and have grown up playing each other since they were little kids.ÿÿ Everyone from the locals to the respective school administrations seems to have a different idea about who has the advantage in this year's game.ÿ The truth is that this game is a coin flip.ÿ
ÿÿÿÿÿÿ A game like this forces fans to look at every angle, one thing that can be counted on is the powerful Union O-line.ÿ This group is battle tested is ready to bang heads with an impressive Jenks defensive interior.ÿ I also look to Unions man under center, Brandon Rodgers, a proven winner who has never lost to Jenks at any level going back to the fifth grade and will get the first win of his varsity career.ÿ Lastly I look at who my partner has picked to win, Jenks, and while last week Chris convinced me to go with Woodlands in a losing effort, I will no longer be misled by my height impaired partner.ÿ
ÿÿÿÿÿÿ Although Jenks beat a formidable opponent in Bixby 28-14 and Union was trounced 37-7 and fell to MaxPreps third ranked Hoover of Alabama, I believe the ball will go Unions way in this one.ÿ Union played well with the best in the nation before falling apart and will play a complete game this Friday, avenging last years devastating loss on a last second Hail Mary pass and emerging victorious in front of thousands and Skelly Stadium.ÿÿÿ ---- Mike Wilkes
