Northeast Hoosier recap October 29, 2013
East Noble was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting NorthWood. The Knights came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Northeast Hoosier this week, Norwell beat Columbia City 45-28. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Knights.
Carroll's dynamic duo of Chandler Boggs and Justin Tranquill proved tough for Homestead to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Boggs threw for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns and Tranquill had 82 yards receiving. Tyler Winkeljohn helped Carroll's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 70 yards.
Ariest Vasquez was a force in the backfield as New Haven defeated Fort Wayne South Side.
Vasquez was a passing and rushing force as the Bulldogs bested the Archers. Vasquez's favorite target this week was Jordan Hogue, who caught 2 passes for 35 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Logan Ormsby of the Spartans is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,887. He has also thrown 19 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hogue. The New Haven star has 41 catches for 787 yards.
Norwell moved up to 104 from 132 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jeff Miller's team was able to move up by beating the Eagles 45-28.
