Neither South Lenoir nor North Lenoir has found much luck recently as South Lenoir staggers into their 7:00 PM Friday contest off of seven consecutive losses and North Lenoir off of three. Greene Central delivered North Lenoir a harsh 61 - 22 defeat three weeks ago. Meanwhile, things didn't go well at all for South Lenoir two weeks ago, where the team lost 67 - 27 to Washington.
North Lenoir's game was pretty much over by the third quarter three weeks ago, when the team was down by 33. The defeat dropped its record to 4-5.
As for South Lenoir, it went out not with a bang but a whimper: after high points in the first half, the team only scored six points in the second. The defeat came about despite its dynamic duo of senior Tyrese Suggs, who ran for 173 yards and also punched in two touchdowns, and junior Jayden Carr, who earned two touchdowns and 156 yards rushing the ball. The loss brought South Lenoir down to 1-9.
Both teams are out for their first conference win. The good news: one team is bound to get it.
