Dominguez moved up to 542 from 621 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in San Gabriel Valley. The Dons were able to make the jump by beating Warren 42-20.
Paramount extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lynwood, 47-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Pirates.
Gahr's dynamic duo of Caleb Baumann and William Latham proved tough for Downey to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Baumann threw for 315 yards and Latham had 100 yards receiving. Kendren Pitchford helped Gahr's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 95 yards.
Justin Huff was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 251 yards on 20 carries as the Vikings lost to the Vikings. Tristan Esparza also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
Gahr's Baumann and Christian Pabico have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Gabriel Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Baumann has thrown for 2038 yards this season, while Pabico, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 32 catches for 657 yards. Huff from Downey leads the league in rushing with 1027 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Paramount takes on second place Downey. Last week, Paramount bested the Knights, while Jack Williams' team topped Greg Marshall's team.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Matt Howard's team takes on the Vikings. The Pirates' offense has racked up 287 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Downey has allowed only 119 on the year.
Deonte Dixon of the Paramount is only 65 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Dixon has rushed for 935 yards on 111 carries so far this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Pirates take on Downey. Paramount has allowed 148 points this season, while the Vikings have given up 119. The Pirates allowed 7 points last week as they defeated Lynwood.
Paramount took down Mark Williams' team 47-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dixon ran for 169 yards in the win.
