Wilmington will take on Streator at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Wilmington have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Last Friday, Wilmington put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They put the hurt on Reed-Custer with a sharp 38-13 win. Junior Connor Dempsey, who rushed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Wilmington's success. Dempsey has now scored at least one touchdown in the past five games.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Streator weren't quite Lisle's equal in the second half when they met. It was close but no cigar for Streator as they fell 20-23 to Lisle. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Streator.
Wilmington's victory lifted them to 4-3 while Streator's loss dropped them down to 2-5. We'll find out if Wilmington can add another positive mark to their record or if Streator can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Wilmington's step.
