Today we left the great state of Pennsylvania and began our trek down to Georgia. While I will not miss the cold weather I will miss the people and hard nosed style of football played up here. I now understand while they refer to West Coast football as "pretty football", which is not a compliment by the way. Regardless of what region has the best football, the people up here are proud to lay claim to being the home of smashmouth football.
But about the game, Berwick stunned everyone with the way they jumped out to a 21 point lead. There was a clear sense of panic in the air for the Spartans and I can only imagine what was going through Coach Curry's head as he watched his old team attempt to spoil his perfect season. I am not sure what was said at halftime, but 34 unanswered points later, the message was sent. The first half was not the true colors of the boys from Wyoming Valley West and it was not going to be the night for the Bulldogs to continue their winning tradition in this longstanding grudge match.
The Maxpress Express has stopped in our nation's capitol, Washington D.C. We are headed down to Valdosta, but tomorrow morning we will see some of the sights in D.C. Then we will get back on the road, unless I can schedule in some Madden with George W., but he's been ducking me these days. However, I am looking for a challenge down in Valdosta if any of you guys are up for it? Let me know.
