There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. A special shoutout goes to Marshall's senior Jarod Leviston, who scored seven total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Marshall's 66 - 18 win over Douglass last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Jarod Leviston. Leviston tossed the ball for 318 yards and seven TDs. That performance made Leviston one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Millwood (7th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Cascia Hall (49th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Millwood took its contest against Cascia Hall by a conclusive 38 - 7 score. Millwood did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated.
Movin on Up
Metro Christian gave both Holland Hall and its quarterback (sacked four times) a rough time last week. Metro Christian had all the answers against Holland Hall, winning 37 - 14. One of the main ringleaders for Metro Christian was junior Asher Link, who ran for 113 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. Metro Christian's success was rewarded with a 17-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Bethany (17th in the power rankings) and Blanchard (11th). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Bethany and Blanchard put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
