East Side moved up to 93 from 122 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region 3. The Trojans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Nettleton 42-13.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, East Side beat the Tigers 42-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for Kendrick Woodard's team.
The Trojans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jalen Thomas threw for 95 yards and Leon Green, Jr. had 69 yards receiving. On the ground Taquille Eatmon chipped in 145 yards. Perry Henry helped East Side's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
East Side's dynamic duo of Thomas and Green, Jr. proved to be unstoppable against Nettleton, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Henry helped East Side's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
Ruleville Central's Markevion Quinn and Anthony Spivey led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Quinn has thrown for 1,039 yards this season, while Spivey has 29 catches for 528 yards. The Trojans' Quadre Butler leads the league in rushing yards with 1,539.
East Side's Eatmon is a mere 84 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Eatmon has rushed for 916 yards on 86 carries so far this year.
The Tigers lost to Louisville 69-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
