Hillside won the last time they faced Abraham Clark, and things went their way on Friday, too. Hillside took their match against Abraham Clark by a conclusive 35-7 score. Not happy with the 6-7 score at halftime, Hillside made a real splash in the second half.
Hillside got off to a sluggish start, posting 6 total points in the first half. That left them at a 6-7 disadvantage. The Hillside defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest.
No one put up better numbers for Hillside than senior Brian Ugwu, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 85 yards and 1 touchdown. In fact, with 10 tackles Ugwu was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Najee Peele, who racked up 13 tackles. The win bumped Hillside's record up to 3-0. Abraham Clark are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Next week Hillside take on Delaware Valley at 7:00 PM. Abraham Clark will look to defend their home turf against Johnson at 7:00 PM.
