4A Region III District 23 recap October 1, 2013
Brazosport moved up to 717 from 787 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 23. The Exporters were able to move up by beating Bay City 40-21.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, George Ranch beat Foster 45-21. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Brazosport's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Emond Hobbs threw for 104 yards and Jordan Jackson had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Claude Lowe contributed 173 yards. Lowe helped Brazosport's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.
Hobbs put up the best numbers through the air as Ben Rudolph's team beat the Black Cats. Hobbs' favorite target this week was Jackson, who caught 3 passes for 46 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ricky Tullos' team takes on Terry. As it stands, George Ranch is in first, while the Rangers are in fifth.
George Ranch took down the Falcon 45-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
