After having lost a blowout in their matchup four weeks ago against Anthem Prep, St. David were happy to find some success on Friday. St. David put a hurting on San Pasqual Valley to the tune of 96-52. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
St. David started the match off right with 46 first-half points. San Pasqual Valley wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 40 to make it 46-40 heading into the break. The offense for St. David continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 50 points to put the game away.
No one put up better numbers for St. David than senior Jayden Peterson, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 258 yards on the ground. Peterson was a defensive playmaker as well with a menacing 4.5 sacks. The St. David defense stepped up as well to lay out the quarterback seven times. The win bumped St. David's record up to 5-3. San Pasqual Valley are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-7.
Next week St. David take on Valley Union at 7:00 PM. Valley Union took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse St. David's good fortune. San Pasqual Valley will be playing at home against Anthem Prep at at 7:00 PM.
