Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Cadillac should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on St. Johns at 7:00 PM. If the game is anything like the 43-56 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Things haven't been easy for Cadillac, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They were completely outmatched, falling 0-42 to Traverse City West. Cadillac were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-25.
As for St. Johns, they had a rough outing against Haslett two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. St. Johns made easy work of Fowlerville last Friday and carried off a 45-21 victory. Followers of St. Johns probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
St. Johns's win lifted them to 4-3 while Cadillac's loss dropped them down to 1-6. In their win, St. Johns relied heavily on senior Konnor Near, who rushed for 97 yards and 5 touchdowns. Cadillac will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
