5A Aurora recap October 29, 2013
Rangeview added to the longest winning streak in 5A Aurora this week by beating Denver East, 43-10. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Hinkley took down Aurora Central 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Gateway's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lance Savage threw for 57 and 1 touchdown and Austin Hall had 89 yards receiving. On the ground CJ Sanders contributed 152 yards. Sanders helped Gateway's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 38 yards.
The Olympians' dynamic duo of Savage and Hall proved to be unstoppable against Adams City, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sanders helped Gateway's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 38 yards.
Sanders provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gateway beat the Eagles. Sanders' key target this week was Hall, who caught 3 passes for 89 yards.
The Trojans' Deron Harrell and Ja'ron Kellem led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Harrell has thrown for 1,418 yards this season, while Kellem has 37 catches for 702 yards. Isaac Fuqua from Ashour Peera's team leads the league in rushing with 936 yards.
The Olympians' Fuqua is a mere 64 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 137 carries Fuqua has accumulated 936 yard this year.
Rangeview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,740 from 4,180. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 43-10 victory over the Angels last week.
