There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Terra Nova's senior Jared Julian, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Movin on Up
It isn't too difficult to come out on top when you enjoy a 126-yard edge over your opponent, and Valley Christian had just that last week. It had all the answers against Serra, winning 37 - 6. Senior D'Von Lang deserves a lot of the credit as he rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns. The team's efforts were enough to boost its power ranking by six, which was the most sizeable gain made by any team in the rankings.
Can't Touch This
After a timid eight display the game before, Terra Nova sure wasn't afraid to show off its offense last week. It put the hurt on Aragon with a conclusive 49 - 7 victory. The Aragon defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 42 points per game), and Terra Nova took advantage of that. Jared Julian deserves a lot of credit in the win. He rushed for 227 yards and threw for four touchdowns, a performance good enough to make him one of the top players in the power rankings last week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another victory last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (nine consecutive games). Everything went Las Lomas's way against Ygnacio Valley as it secured a 63 - 0 win. Even if it didn't bump Las Lomas up the rankings, the victory at least kept the team from dropping.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between De La Salle (1st in the power rankings) and San Ramon Valley (24th). De La Salle is backed by a win while San Ramon Valley is motivated by a recent defeat. We'll see if De La Salle can add another positive mark to its record or if San Ramon Valley can shake off its loss and take the spring out of De La Salle's step.
