Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer has agreed to join
the Bulldog staff and will work as an assistant to head coach Mike Mitchell,
according to the Idaho Statesman.
“It's not an every-single-day deal because he has
other commitments in the fall, but he's excited about it and we're happy to
have a guy with that kind of experience," Mitchell told the Idaho Statesman. "He has great
charisma and the kids love to be around him."
Plummer spent six years with the Arizona Cardinals and
four years with the Denver Broncos, in a career that spanned from 1997-2006. He
threw for nearly 30,000 yards in his career.
A native of Boise, Plummer attended Capital High School,
and was twice named to Idaho’s all-state team.
He joins a program that finished 5-5 last season and
suffered a narrow playoff loss to Mountain Home, 10-7.
