In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Bauxite was heavily favored to win coming into its game last week, and the results showcase why. It blew past Fountain Lake 40 - 14. Senior Dawson Dabbs deserves a lot of the credit as he earned three touchdowns and 206 yards rushing the ball. Thanks to its success, Bauxite cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
Can't Touch This
North Little Rock's 49 - 17 win over Catholic last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Tyler Day. Day rushed for 173 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Day as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
Booneville has been an offensive powerhouse for four straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Mansfield was a 55 - 6 blowout in Booneville's favor. Booneville's margin of victory (49 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. The success catapulted it six spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Look Out Below
Fayetteville gave both Bentonville and its quarterback (sacked six times) a rough time last week. Fayetteville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 24 - 20 to Bentonville. The defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Darius Bowers, who threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns. The bitter result was made even more difficult to swallow as it knocked the team down five power ranking positions, the most of any team in the power rankings.
