The second installment of the High School Football Coaches Podcast featured Mazi Moayed of
Marin Catholic (Kentfield, Calif.), who mentored Super Bowl quarterback Jared Goff during his prep days.
Winning is fun and Moayed has done plenty of it during his time at Marin Catholic, but that's not his motivation behind making it a career.
"I love football. I love the sport and what I've gotten out of it. I love what I've learned from life from the game," Moayed told HSFC host Steve Montoya. "Competing as an athlete is just in your blood. As a player you start to lose some of that when you step away. As a coach that carries on. And a whole new world opens up when you start to coach.
"It's also another family. I think it's something we all search for all the time in life. It's the ultimate platform to serve and teach and be part of something that's bigger than just yourself. That's why I love it."

Moayed has led Marin Catholic to seven league and three section titles. With Goff under center in 2012, the Wildcats went 14-2 and reached the Division III state championship game.
Prior to arriving at Marin Catholic, Moayed coached at three other Bay Area high school as well as College of Marin.
With the goal of being a go-to resource for coaches, check back each week as host Steve Montoya interviews those making a difference in the game.
