The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Clinton Prairie takes on Monroe Central in the first playoff game of the year.
Clinton Prairie received a tough blow two weeks ago as it fell 46 - 29 to Eastern. The result came about despite the 4th straight game that Sam Schoonveld put up 100+ rushing yards. Schoonveld has now scored at least one TD in the past four consecutive games. Senior Collin Stroup was in the mix too, providing Clinton Prairie with two touchdowns.
As for Monroe Central, last game was the first rocky defensive outing for it this year. It was crushed by Shenandoah 42 - 20 two weeks ago. However, senior Keegan Kane didn't go down without a fight as he ran for 86 yards and also punched in one touchdown.
After their losses, Clinton Prairie dropped to 5-5 and Monroe Central dropped to 9-1. We'll find out on Friday which team manages to turn its luck around when they battle it out this week.
