Licking County recap September 4, 2013
Licking Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 102 from 132 this week, the biggest jump in Licking County. The Panthers were able to make move up by topping Tri-Valley 17-14.
Watkins Memorial took down Briggs 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mike Ford ran for 100 yards during the win.
Ben Shroyer and Ford gave the Warriors a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Teammate Kaleb Goad added to the ground attack by rushing for 52 yards.
Shroyer and Ford gave Watkins Memorial a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.
Ford was a passing and rushing force as Jeff Severino's team defeated the Bruins.
Shroyer put up the best numbers through the air as the Warriors beat Briggs. He had a total of 3 completions for 12 yards.
Ford was the most successful running back in the league this week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Granville takes on Heath. As it stands, the Blue Aces are in 10th, while the Bulldogs are in ninth.
Licking Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,648 from 2,168. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 17-14 victory over the Scotties last week.
