There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 104-point combined score from Chaminade and Folsom.

Santa Margarita's 55 - 7 win over Mayfair last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Jake Thomas. Thomas earned five touchdowns and 152 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Thomas among the top power-ranked players for the week.
The battle between Chaminade (ranked 15th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Folsom (ranked 5th) turned out to be a somewhat underwhelming competition. There's no need to mince words: Chaminade lost to Folsom, and it lost bad. The score wound up at 70 - 34. The quarterback felt the defeat most of all -- literally. After five sacks, he is probably hoping to get a little more protection in the future.
Movin on Up
It was another game, another high-octane performance for Moorpark last week (their 3rd in a row). It took its contest against Higley by a conclusive 35 - 7 score. 35 is shaping up to be Moorpark's lucky number as the team posted the same point total in its win over Notre Dame (SO) the game before. The success catapulted Moorpark nine spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
