On Friday Tomball Memorial will take on Cypress Lakes at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
Tomball Memorial's and Bridgeland's contest last Friday was close at halftime, but Tomball Memorial turned on the heat in the second half with 42 points. Tomball Memorial were fully in charge, breezing past Bridgeland 59-21. No one put up better numbers for Tomball Memorial than junior Chandler Galban, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 331 yards and 3 touchdowns. Near the top of the highlight reel was Galban's 75-yard TD bomb to Logan Kyle in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Cypress Lakes scored well below their previous average of 33.67 points per game, but luckily it didn't cost them. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bryan 3-0. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Their wins bumped Cypress Lakes to 4-3 and Tomball Memorial to 5-1. Cypress Lakes's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Tomball Memorial defensive front that amassed 13 sacks against Bridgeland, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
