Video: Trae Young breaks scoring recordFuture Sooner put up 62 points last Friday in Norman North win.
Star senior point guard Trae Young
of Norman North (Okla.)
will be staying home next year.
Young committed to Oklahoma on Thursday, picking the Sooners over Kansas and Oklahoma State.
247Sports has the dynamic guard pegged as the No. 18 overall prospect in the Class of 2017. He joins a recruiting class that includes 6-foot-7 forward Brady Manek
of Harrah (Okla.)
and 6-11 center Hannes Polla of Finland.
Young set an Oklahoma Class 6A state record with 62 points last Friday and unofficially leads the country in scoring at over 43 points per game.
The 6-1 floor general guided MoKan Elite to a Peach Jam championship last summer, putting up 21.3 points and 7.1 assists per game in the highly-competitive event.
