MIDDLETOWN – Connecticut sports have never had a better friend than veteran Shoreline Newspapers writer Hal Levy, and the people whom he’s touched will have a chance to honor him at a testimonial event in late June.
“Hal Levy Night” will take place in the ballroom at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell on Thursday, June 26 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 and will include hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar will be furnished.
Levy, a Middletown native who lives in Durham, has been executive sports editor of the Shoreline Newspapers for nearly 30 years. He is a past president of the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Alliance and still sits on the organization’s executive board as its financial secretary.
He is a member of five local halls of fame and was presented the CSWA’s Art McGinley Award for meritorious service in 2000.
