Alhambra will challenge Mark Keppel on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Alhambra are the favorites in this one -- although they were the favorites in their last contest, too, so the odds might count for a little less.
If Alhambra were riding high off their 48-0 takedown of San Gabriel two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Alhambra took a hard 27-44 fall against Bell Gardens. Despite the loss, Alhambra saw an underclassman step up: Freshman Noah Rodriguez passed for 372 yards and 4 touchdowns. Rodriguez has now scored at least one touchdown in the past nine games.
Meanwhile, Mark Keppel have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their game against Montebello last Friday making it nine winless games in a row. Mark Keppel found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-34 punch to the gut against Montebello.
Alhambra simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Mark Keppel 54-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alhambra since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
