I woke up this morning thinking that last night was just a weird dream. Driving the RV through tunnels, down Time Square, and getting a parkway shutdown, it must have all been in my imagination right? Wrong! After the insanity of our night in Manhattan it was good to get back down to business and meet the staff and players from New Rochelle.
Every great team seems to buy into a certain concept or belief, and these guys have clearly bought into the concept of teamwork and heart. The New Rochelle fellas certainly do not lack in the talent department, but according almost every player we talked to, it is their heart and dedication to the team that is the reason for their undefeated season. Their commitment to these ideals is consistent with what we have seen around the country; individual talent and achievements will only get a team so far. The truly great teams will always work selflessly together for a higher goal.
Unfortunately for New Rochelle, another highly touted team sporting an undefeated record stands in their way this weekend. Their name is Monroe Woodbury and we will be at their practice bright and early tomorrow morning. I look forward to meeting these guys and sizing up this weekend's huge matchup. As always, Chris and I are looking for advice on this weekend's game and people willing to sound off on what they think.
