Christian (El Cajon, Calif.) extended its winning streak to seven games with a 19-7 victory over
San Marcos (Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Kai Arvan in the first quarter, the Patriots were up 19-0 at the half.
Christian saw its 19-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.
San Marcos' only touchdown came on a 2-yard run by
Isiah Hennie in the third quarter.
CHS went into the matchup giving up only 9.2 points per game. The seven points that the Knights ended with were well below their average of 32.6 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for San Marcos, which notched a 28-17 victory over Granite Hills in its previous outing. The loss ended San Marcos' three-game winning streak.
