I guess you could call our day today in Cincinnati our day off, that is if you call what we do on our normal days as work. Chris and I went to a local Skyline restaurant where we ate what is apparently a traditional meal for the locals that consisted of a plate of spaghetti with chili and cheese on top. I do have to say it was much better than it might sound to my tofu loving California friends and is actually pretty good, but I'll probably stick with a cheeseburger the next time around.
Anyways, today we were lucky enough to meet some of the local St. Xavier alumni who showed us around town and gave us some background information about the amazing football community around here and specifically the ultra competitive league in the Cincinnati area. While they admit their bias, it did not take much persuading to convince Chris and me that we had traveled to another goldmine of high school football. This area has produced an insane amount of NFL players and the high school teams have consistently battled with the nation's best in years past. This week will be the first week we get to see interstate competition and several of the local Ohio teams will have a tremendous opportunity to prove they belong among the nation's elite programs. St. Xavier will arguably have the greatest test in going up against Maxpreps #1 Lakeland of Florida.
By the way I just beat Chris in Madden again but who's counting. actually its 3 to 1.
